The Nature of Rules

Permanent standing rule

The Garden Code records how this society makes, keeps, and changes its rules. Its botanical classifications describe a rule's place in the life of the Club.

Open the classifications
RootsStanding · Remain in effect until formally amended.
VinesLiving · Their effect can change through their stated process.
BloomsSeasonal · Apply during their stated season.
WildflowersTemporary · Apply only for their published period or occasion.
SeedlingsProposed · Not enforceable. Adoption makes a Seedling one of the four rule types above.

The Committee shall retain each rule's number, classification, status, and history in the Garden Code. This rule is itself a Root, a point the Committee considers entirely proper.

Nominating Flowers

Standing rule

Every gardener may submit one nomination per UTC calendar day to the Botanical Registry. Nominate an individual flower already in your Garden or an eligible completed collection. Adding flowers to your personal Garden does not use your nomination.

RULE 002✿ In Bloom
Root · Standing Rule

Multiple Entries

Standing rule

More than one gardener may register the same flower or collection. Everyone deserves an opportunity for botanical recognition.

Each gardener may have one active entry for the same flower combination or collection in a season. Rejected or withdrawn entries stay in your history, and you may nominate again using a later day’s allowance. Withdrawing does not refund that day’s nomination.

Community Verification

Standing rule

Garden Club members may personally inspect and verify one another’s accepted entries in Hello Kitty Island Adventure. Confirm only an inspection you have actually made.

One valid inspection makes an accepted Registry entry Verified. Additional valid inspections add to that entry’s verification count. A gardener may give one community verification—also called an endorsement—per UTC calendar day through Verify Entry. Each account may endorse a particular entry only once, and no gardener may inspect their own entry.

Owners may open or close their entry to community inspections. Closing stops new community inspections but preserves those already recorded and the entry’s verification status. Committee-authorized inspections may follow separately numbered rules and allowances.

The Three Honors

Standing rule

For each flower type or completed collection, the Registry recognizes three special distinctions among its individual entries:

First Submitted — The gardener who submitted the earliest eligible entry, even while it awaits review. A rejected or withdrawn entry cannot retain the honor.

First Verified — The gardener whose accepted entry first received a valid verification, whether from a community inspection or an authorized Committee inspection.

Most Verified — The gardener whose individual entry has received the most valid verifications. This living distinction may change as inspections accumulate. On a tie, the current holder keeps it. If there is no holder, the entry that first reached the tied count takes it; any remaining tie is settled in a deterministic order.

Invalidated inspections may require the Committee to recalculate honors. A gardener may hold more than one honor for the same flower or collection.

RULE 005✿ In Bloom

Garden Order Recognition

Standing rule

Verified entries contribute to their gardener’s Garden Order. Each verified entry counts once, however many endorsements it receives. Orders also receive recognition for the three Registry honors.

Order affiliations are recorded when nominations and inspections are made. Changing Orders does not move an entry’s recorded affiliation. The Committee encourages a friendly botanical rivalry.

RULE 006✿ In Bloom
Root · Standing Rule

The Committee’s Decisions

Standing rule

Entries may await review, be accepted, be rejected, or be withdrawn. Submission status and verification status are separate: acceptance alone does not make an entry Verified. One valid inspection establishes Verified status. Every entry keeps its own inspection availability, verification count, and verification status. Check your submissions and correspondence at the Committee’s Desk.

During Beta Season, nominations are self-reported and provisionally accepted without screenshot evidence. Return the next UTC day to open the Committee’s response. Beta recognition is not an automated check of your game inventory.

RULE 007✿ In Bloom
Root · Standing Rule

Completed Collections

Standing rule

Complete every requirement listed for the collection you nominate. Extra copies of one flower do not replace a missing requirement. Where the collection permits any valid secondary color, any permitted secondary qualifies.

Collections follow their published catalog version, so an older collection’s requirements and history do not silently change.

Seasons & Committee Logs

Standing rule

Records and honors belong to their Committee season. The current book is Beta Season, and its records are provisional. Launch and future seasonal events will have their own books. Closing a season preserves its history in the Committee Logs.

RULE 009✿ In Bloom

Privacy & Proper Records

Standing rule

Garden Club sharing and blocking controls still apply. Private entries stay private, even when they contribute to anonymous Registry totals. Inspection names appear according to each gardener’s sharing settings.

The Committee may invalidate inspections and recalculate affected verification counts, honors, and Prestige. Administrative corrections retain an audit history; the original record does not quietly vanish beneath the blotter. Recognition is for honest gardening, rather than repeated votes or duplicate entries.

RULE 010✿ In Bloom
Root · Standing Rule

Prestige & Proper Recognition

Standing rule

Personal Prestige recognizes contributions to the Botanical Registry during the current season. Adding flowers to a personal Garden, importing a collection, or owning duplicates does not earn it. A qualifying community inspection of another gardener's eligible entry earns the inspector +1 Personal Prestige. The entry owner does not earn Personal Prestige merely because an ordinary community endorsement was received. Daily and one-inspection-per-entry limits still apply. Separately numbered seasonal rules may grant additional Prestige for specific inspection methods.

The holder of First Submitted receives +10 Personal Prestige when that entry is accepted. The first accepted entry to receive a valid verification earns First Verified and +20 Personal Prestige for its gardener, whether the inspection was made by a community member or authorized by the Committee. Most Verified is settled once at the end of the season and awards +30 to its final holder. Registry honors and their earned points remain in the historical record.

Personal Prestige earned and its current balance are separate: a gardener may give away their balance without erasing what they earned. Personal Prestige begins again at zero each season. Rule 024 defines the standing Order score; a seasonal challenge may award separate points under its own rule. Beta Season remains its own competition.

The Color of Beta Season

Beta Season · Expires when the season closes

Garden Club members may vote for the official color of Beta Season from Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet. Each member may plant one final vote per Vine during Beta Season. Submitted votes cannot be changed or withdrawn. Votes are counted continuously, and the leading option is the current official designation. The current leader stays in effect during a tie; an initial tie uses the published option order. A change in the leading option changes this Vine’s effect, not its rule number. This is a separate ballot from the species vote in Rule 012. Neither ballot uses the daily nomination or verification allowance.

Rule 011 is a living Vine. Its current color can change when another option takes the lead. The earlier, unrestricted Beta color ballot was voided and reopened with the seven rainbow options; every gardener may vote again. This correction remains in the Committee's history. The chosen color belongs to Beta Season. Any effect on nominations, verification, or prestige must be announced in a separately numbered seasonal rule; this rule introduces no bonus or penalty.

The Species of Beta Season

Beta Season · Expires when the season closes

Garden Club members may vote for the official flower species of Beta Season. This is a separate ballot from the color vote in Rule 011. Neither ballot uses the daily nomination or verification allowance.

Rule 012 is a living Vine. Its current species can change when another option takes the lead. Previous outcomes and votes remain in the season’s history. The chosen species belongs to Beta Season. Any effect on nominations, verification, or prestige must be announced in a separately numbered seasonal rule; this rule introduces no bonus or penalty.

The Gift of Prestige

Beta Season · Expires when the season closes

A gardener may voluntarily surrender their entire current seasonal Personal Prestige balance for the advancement of their present Garden Order. The whole positive balance moves to that Order's Order Prestige in one recorded contribution. No partial gift is permitted in Beta Season. A gift cannot be undone.

The gardener keeps the record of how every point was earned, and may earn and give again later. Changing Orders never moves an earlier gift; the receiving Order keeps it. No Order vote can create official Personal or Order Prestige.

The Prestige of Orders

Standing rule

Rule ID: ggg-order-prestige-001. Authority: the Garden Committee.

An Order's prestige reflects its members and their contributions to the Garden Club.

Every Order earns +1 Prestige for each current member, +1 Prestige for each accepted Botanical Registry submission, and +1 Prestige for every Personal Prestige point gifted to the Order.

When a gardener leaves an Order, their membership point leaves with them. Past submissions and gifts remain credited to the original Order.

Orders with equal Prestige share the same standing.

As a Root, this rule remains in effect unless formally amended by the Garden Committee.

The Committee's Screenshot Inspection

Beta Season · Closes with the season

During Beta Season, a gardener may email a screenshot of an accepted individual flower or completed collection entry to julian@figpdx.com. Include the Registry entry ID in the subject and attach a clear screenshot showing the nominated flower or collection. The Committee will examine it and may take up to three days to record its decision.

If the Committee approves the screenshot, it records one valid Registry verification. This can establish Verified status and contribute to First Verified or Most Verified. Only one screenshot verification may be recorded per entry. This inspection uses neither the gardener's daily nomination nor a member's daily community endorsement. The Committee reviewer earns no endorsement Prestige; under this Beta Season rule, the submitting gardener earns +1 Personal Prestige for an approved screenshot inspection. Other gardeners may still inspect the same entry in game.

An email is a request for review, not an automatic verification. The screenshot itself is not published in the Registry. Withdrawn or rejected entries cannot receive a new screenshot verification.

RULE 028❧ In Effect

A Properly Cited Objection

Permanent standing rule

A gardener disputing a grow must cite the numbered Garden Code rule or Season Challenge clause on which the objection rests. The Committee records the citation with the concern so its members know which horticultural principle is allegedly at stake. For an Ombré field, cite Season Challenge S26.4.2 — The Ombré Challenge. Historical inspection records may use its former Rule 026 identifier.

New grow disputes without a relevant rule citation will not enter the Committee's minutes. Concerns filed before this rule took effect remain valid and may still be decided. A citation does not, by itself, prove the objection; the Committee must still examine the grow. The Committee considers this an entirely reasonable amount of paperwork.

RULE 029MEMBERSHIP❧ In Effect

Green Membership

GREEN MEMBER

Permanent standing rule

An open invitation to the garden. Green is the basic membership level.

Green members may track and manage their personal flower collection, synchronize their garden across devices, browse the Garden Club and its public records, and view the Tea Room, exhibitions, awards, and society activity.

Green Membership describes an observer's place in the society. Official Club participation belongs to Blue and Violet members. During the inaugural Beta Season, every registered gardener receives Blue Membership and full functional access.

RULE 030MEMBERSHIP❧ In Effect

Blue Membership

BLUE MEMBER

Permanent standing rule

Full membership in the society. Blue includes every Green benefit.

Blue members may join a Garden Order; earn Personal and Order Prestige; submit flowers and collections to the Botanical Registry; participate in Club and Order voting; publish their garden to the Gardener Registry; add friends and take part in the Tea Room; request Committee verification of awards; and participate in current Garden Club activities.

During the inaugural Beta Season, registered gardeners receive Blue Membership automatically.

RULE 031MEMBERSHIP❧ In Effect
Root · Standing Rule

Violet Membership

VIOLET MEMBER

Permanent standing rule

Distinguished patrons of the gardens. Violet includes every Blue benefit.

Violet members have a distinctive membership designation and card, Violet-colored identity throughout Garden Club, and recognition as patrons of the society. The Committee may consider future acknowledgments or privileges, but none are guaranteed.

Violet Membership grants no additional voting power, Prestige, award eligibility, or influence over Club rules. The Committee may award Violet Membership to selected gardeners during Beta Season.

The Standing of Members

Permanent standing rule

Every registered gardener has one membership level: Green, Blue, or Violet. Membership belongs to the gardener, not to their Order. It does not measure gardening skill, Prestige, or award standing.

The Committee administers membership designations. Member profiles and identity chips display the assigned level throughout Garden Club. Membership levels do not expire during the inaugural Beta Season.

The Rulebook records the intended privileges of each level. Beta members retain full functional access; these rules introduce no new access restriction during Beta Season.

The Golden Flower

Permanent standing rule; holder changes as gardens grow

The Golden Flower is a single living distinction held by the gardener with the largest valid tracked flower collection. It is a botanical award, separate from membership level, Garden Order, Prestige, and the Registry's permanent honors. Green, Blue, and Violet gardeners are equally eligible.

The Committee's trusted garden record recalculates the holder when a synced Garden changes. A gardener must surpass the current holder to take the Golden Flower; a tie leaves it in the holder's care. If no holder exists, tied gardens are resolved by a consistent published account ordering. Deleted and invalid entries do not count. Gardeners cannot appoint themselves.

During Beta Season, the Garden tracks whether each flower variety is collected, but does not yet record duplicate physical quantities. The Golden Flower therefore uses the count of valid tracked varieties, one per variety, until quantity tracking is introduced. Its current holder and count are shown in the Club and on the holder's profile. This distinction may move again when another garden grows larger.
